The Green Bay Packers returned to the practice field on Monday after beating the Washington Commanders to open Week 2 last Thursday night, and Matt LaFleur’s team was without four injured players, including receiver Jayden Reed.
Per Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, the Packers didn’t have Reed, starting left guard Aaron Banks, starting right tackle Zach Tom or cornerback Bo Melton to start Monday’s practice. However, Melton and Tom were seen with helmets on during rehab, suggesting they could be inching closer to a return.
Reed broke his collarbone during Thursday night’s win and is headed for surgery. He will be placed on injured reserve at some point this week. His return timeline is expected to be 6-8 weeks.
Banks (ankle), Tom (oblique) and Melton (shoulder) missed Week 2 with injuries suffered in the season opener and are still unavailable to practice.
The Packers are about to face a Cleveland Browns defensive front featuring Myles Garrett, Maliek Collins and Mason Graham on Sunday, so the statuses of Banks and Tom will be worth watching all week. Also, the Packers struggled covering kicks and punts against the Commanders, highlighting Melton’s value as a flyer on special teams.
Cornerback Nate Hobbs, who made his 2025 season debut on Thursday night, was practicing again. So was safety Zayne Anderson, who has missed back-to-back games with a knee injury suffered during the preseason.
LaFleur’s team won’t post an official injury report for Week 3 until Wednesday afternoon.
The Packers placed defensive end Brenton Cox Jr. on injured reserve last Thursday and still have a spot open on the 53-man roster as of Monday morning. It’s possible one of the roster spots will go to Mecole Hardman, who is available on the practice squad to help replace Reed, if necessary.
