(Reuters) – Unilever has named Srinivas Phatak as its new finance chief on Tuesday, saying the board was unanimous in its decision after Phatak “performed strongly” in the role on an interim basis earlier this year.
Srinivas had served as the acting CFO since February, when Unilever unexpectedly ousted CEO Hein Schumacher and promoted then-finance chief Fernando Fernandez as the top boss.
“The Unilever Board is in unanimous agreement that Srinivas is the best candidate for the role, due to the strength of his industry and functional experience and having performed strongly as acting CFO,” it said in a statement.
